The National Family Planning Board, a Statutory Agency of the Ministry of Health and Wellness is seeking to identify a motivated, result-orientated, and qualified specialist to improve its social media presence by increasing unique, attractive content and consistent interactions.
Background
The Social Media Specialist is required to create and design social media content aimed at promoting the mandate of the NFPB and repositioning the Agency as the main advocate of family planning and reproductive health practices in Jamaica. Additionally, the Social Media Specialist is responsible for maintaining an online relationship with stakeholders, ensuring that they are aware of the changes with respect to the roles and functions of the integrated entity, therein building brand identity.
Various population groups will be directly targeted by the social media campaign. The priority target groups are:
- Adolescents and youth
- Key population groups – men who have sex with men, female sex workers, persons living with HIV, and transgenders.
- General Population including persons with a disability, older persons, and rural folk.
Objectives of the Role
- To improve reach and engagement rates by developing unique visual content (photos, memes, and videos) for the NFPB’s social media profiles that promote responsible SRH behaviour.
- To develop/maintain online relationships with stakeholders through consistent interactions.
- To provide online coverage of NFPB events/activities through live tweets/photos/videos.
Scope of Work
- Collaborate with various units of the organisation to produce the content (Also attend meetings and partake in consultation discussions with other units).
- Attend NFPB events/activities and provide online coverage through live tweets, photos and/or videos.
- Layout materials for social media and on website.
- Develop a content plan promoting the mandate of the NFPB for the Agency’s social media pages – NFPB official Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and any other.
- Create and post daily unique content including photos, memes and/or videos, infographics, mass media campaign material on the Agency’s social media pages. A minimum of four (4) posts per day on each profile would be acceptable.
- Boost posts on social media platforms within available budgetary allocations.
- Conduct and promote competitions on social media (quarterly) to improve safer sex and family planning practices among youth and adolescents; and to reduce the incidences of HIV and Syphilis among the population.
- Engage and maintain interactions with adolescents and youth on social media through counselling messages.
- Facilitate Lives as part of commemorative or promotional events.
- Briefing/guiding guests and staff to manoeuvre the Social Media platforms for Live sessions.
- Develop and disseminate media materials – parenting tips, Quizzes.
- Design covers for organisation’s Annual Report– Main and Financial.
Specific Outputs/Deliverables
- Social media strategy
- Monthly social media content plan/schedule.
- Artwork and messages for daily social media placements (photos, memes) targeting adolescents and addressing sexual responsibility, family planning, maternal and child health, HIV/STI prevention, and gender-based violence.
- Artwork for social media sponsored advertisements.
- Concepts and scripts for videos.
- Photographs, tweets, and videos from NFPB events.
- Monthly social media report.
- Submit monthly billing for payment.
Reporting Relationship
The Specialist shall report to the Director, Communication and Public Relations at the National Family Planning Board.
Contract Period
The contract will be for a period not exceeding twelve (12) months, effective March 1, 2023.
Performance Criteria:
The timely and satisfactory completion of all approved deliverables.
Provision of Requisite Tools and Materials
The Procuring Entity shall provide the necessary tools for completion of all deliverables including cell phone with Internet access, camera, and desktop computer with Adobe Suite. The Agency will also ensure access to the Agency’s website, social media profiles and passwords as necessary for the successful completion of the deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communication, Digital Media Production, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Journalism or any other related field (Candidate may also be permitted if in the process of completing the degree).
- At least 2-3 years working experience in a similar position conceptualizing, designing, and developing social media content and brand awareness.
- Candidate must possess certification or training in relevant areas including graphic design, public relations, marketing, digital marketing, communications, or related discipline.
- Excellent written and personal communication skills.
- Candidate must have a Tax Compliance Certificate.
