Health Status Monitoring Officer (GMG/SEG 2)(Band 8)

Salary $ 4, 266,270 per annum

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Director, the Health Status Monitoring Officer is responsible for managing the various health indicators portion of the health status monitoring and assessment systems. The incumbent also provides technical advice, coordinates health status monitoring and assessment initiatives, reports, stakeholder engagement, knowledge translation, disseminates information and develops capacity building activities specifically for the duties assigned to support the Ministry of Health and Wellness policy direction.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Management Administrative Responsibilities

  1. Liaises with team members to assist in the development of a strategic plan for the dissemination of health status evidence for policy development.
  2. Collaborates with key stakeholders to understand health status needs, assets, key influences and narrative.
  3. Prepares and submits reports on assigned health indicators domains performance and monitoring frameworks
  4. Assists and contributes to the development of data collection instruments and tracking of progress against set program targets
  5. Collaborates with the programme development and field staff and to develop health status assessment plans and tools for capturing data from various health programmatic areas (health domain)
  6. Facilitates health status monitoring and assessment training, annual project reviews, participatory impact assessments, process monitoring, operations monitoring and lessons-learned workshops
  7. Collaborates with the programme development team to review the quality of existing social economic and political data in the project area and wether these will be sufficiently reliable to be used for health status monitoring and assessment proposal and baseline studies

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s in Public Health, Epidemiology or relevant areas of study or training
  • One (1) year or more experience in Research and or Monitoring and Evaluation and or Epidemiology
  • Demonstrate ability to manage collaborators between multiple organization
