Salary Scale: $4,153,080 – $4,936,707
Travelling Allowance: $894,924.00 per annum (with motor vehicle)
$362,472 per annum (without motor vehicle)
JOB PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Director of Laboratory Services, the incumbent is responsible for the administration and organization of the Jamaica Immunology Unit and its services.
Key responsibility areas INCLUDES:
- Directs the Immunology Unit
- Acts as Technical Consultant in the development of the Immunology aspect of the special Laboratory Services Island Wide.
- Co-ordination of work in individual sections and between sections.
- Supervise and/or arrange training programmes where necessary.
- Responsible for the production of Immuno-reagents and the development of diagnostic techniques for the service.
- Responsible for the publication of quarterly and annual reports on the activities of the service
- Responsible for the dissemination of information on the immune-laboratory services of Jamaica.
- Responsible for the planning of training programmes, workshops and conferences on the speciality of immunology.
Minimum Required Education and Experience
- Medical Degree or
- Doctorate in Philosophy in a science subject or
- Specialised post graduate qualification in Immunology
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in research methods and administration of Laboratory Services.
