JOB PURPOSE

Under the general direction of the Director, Monitoring and Evaluation the incumbent shall be responsible to provide statistical information and analysis to support health status monitoring.

 

KEY OUTPUT

  • Advice on data collection, collations and analysis techniques provided to implementing partners;
  • Statistical reviews
  • Recommendations made for improvement to statistical data gathering methods and tools;
  • Efficient data collecting techniques implemented;
  • Collection, collation, analysis and interpretation of relevant level statistical data.
  • Statistical reports.
  • Advice to the Director on quantitative elements of their performance report, analyses and evaluations.
  • Knowledge network and relationships with key stakeholders maintained.
  • Seminars conducted.

 

Key responsibility areas INCLUDE;

  • Advises the Director on priorities for data gathering and analysis and conducts statistical research and analysis in support of the work of the Unit.
  • Identifies with the Director, where statistical analysis can help support overall health status monitoring.
  • Develops and maintains a database of statistical data relevant to the Units work.
  • Develops (and redevelops as required) a classification and coding system for statistical data by maintaining knowledge of local and international standard classification systems.
  • Works with key stakeholders to establish guidelines for the collection and collation of statistical information of relevance to the Units work.
  • Works with key stakeholders to develop and maintain appropriate data collection and collation systems to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data, and facilitate effective reporting to the Unit.
  • Coordinates the collection by key stakeholders of quarterly health status performance data relevant to the work of the Unit, verifies the integrity and accuracy of statistical data provided.
  • Ensures the maintenance and provision by the key stakeholders of accurate and up-to-date statistical data sets relevant to the work of the Unit as required.
  • Periodically reviews and makes recommendations for the improvement of statistical data management within regional health authorities in relation to performance reporting requirements.
  • Designs, analyses, interprets higher-level statistics, and determines appropriate forms and multivariate techniques.

 

Minimum Required Education and Experience 

  • Master’s Degree in Economics, Demography, Mathematics or Statistics.
  • Three (3) years experience in conducting quantitative studies/research.
  • Three (3) years experience in social research.
  • Proven experience of using statistical tools and methods
