Jamaica has recorded one new case of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of confirmed cases for the island to 615.
The last 24 hours have also yielded three additional recoveries, putting the recovery numbers at 420 and the recovery rate at 68.3%.
The new case, which is imported, is a 63-year-old male of a St. Catherine address.
He entered the island via a cruise ship.
The number of imported cases is now up to 114. In addition, 219 cases are contacts of confirmed cases; 39 are local transmission cases not epidemiologically linked; 236 are related to a workplace cluster; and 7 are under investigation.
There are currently two (2) critically ill persons and a total of 185 or 30.1% active cases under observation. There are no moderately ill persons at this time.
Some 355 or 57.7% of the confirmed cases are females and 260 or 42.3% are males.
They range in age from 2 months to 87 years.
Jamaica’s testing numbers are now up to 16,147. In addition to the 615 positives, there are 15,487 negatives and 45 pending.
