A new chairman and board have been appointed for the Western Regional Health Authority (WRHA). Dr. David Lowe, the CEO of Caribbean Producers Jamaica, was appointed chairman. His tenure took effect on July 11, 2017 and he will serve in this capacity until March 31, 2019. Mr. Tony Hart, the former chairman, stepped down due to personal reasons but remains on the board.

- Candice Craig
- Jeffery Reid
Speaking on the appointments, Health Minister Dr. the Honourable Christopher Tufton, said, “the new chairman and board of management will bring combined expertise and experience to effectively manage the operations of the region, especially as the Ministry embarks on the some major infrastructure projects that will benefit the western parts of the country.”
Dr. Tufton thanked Mr. Hart and the board of management noting that “they served during a very difficult period for the Region and their hard work and efforts in managing the operation of the WRHA are deeply appreciated.” The Minister also thanked Mr. Mark Kerr-Jarrett for his years of service.
The WRHA provides health-care through a network of four hospitals and eighty-four health centers in St. James, Westmoreland and Hanover.
