KINGSTON, Jamaica. Wednesday, April 9, 2025: The Ministry of Health & Wellness, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth & Information, is proud to announce the observance of National School Moves Day on April 11, 2025.
This nationwide initiative aims to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles among students in schools across Jamaica. With the theme ‘Strong Bodies, Stronger Minds’, National School Moves Day 2025 seeks to encourage students, teachers and school communities to make it a priority to integrate movement into their daily routines while also promoting healthy eating and overall wellness.
The initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to fostering a healthier, more active generation of young Jamaicans and will this year engage 1,300 primary and secondary students and teachers.
On this special day, schools across the island will participate in various activities such as dance sessions, jogging, aerobics, obstacle courses, and interactive movement breaks between classes. These activities are designed to enhance students’ physical health, boost concentration levels, and improve overall academic performance.
