Assignment Title: Health System Support Specialist
The Government of Jamaica has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) toward the cost of the Support for the Health Systems Strengthening for the Prevention and Care Management of Non- Communicable Diseases Programme, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
The consulting services (“the Services”) include providing technical support to the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Ministry of Health and Wellness for the implementation of Programme goals that seek to strengthen health systems and health care delivery towards prevention, treatment and management of non-communicable diseases. The assignment is for a duration of twenty-four (24) months.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the Services. The requirements are:
- Master’s Degree in Public Health or similar fields of knowledge.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in health systems development and or health services delivery, preferably with a focus on the prevention, management and treatment of NCDs.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of health network systems strengthening from primary care level to secondary care level.
- Proven skills in health system strengthening, health strategic planning and policy development.
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the IDB’s: Policies for the Selection and Contracting of Consultants financed by the Inter-American Development Bank GN-2350-9, March 2011, setting forth the IDB’s policy on conflict of interest. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection of Individual Consultants method set out in the IDB’s Policies.
