Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton will be the special guest at today’s monthly virtual town hall, ‘Let’s Connect with Ambassador Marks’.
The event, which will begin at 7:00 pm EDT (6:00 pm Jamaica time), will see the Minister joined by Congressman Dwight Evans, a member of the United States powerful House Ways and Means Committee and Health Subcommittee.
Her Excellency Audrey Marks – Ambassador to the United States and the Permanent Representative of Jamaica to the Organisation of American States – has said the intention is to give the Minister the opportunity to provide members of the diaspora an update on the Government’s management of the pandemic and to also have him hear from the diaspora about their concerns and ideas to support their homeland.
In addition to providing an update on the COVID-19 pandemic, the Minister will speak to other matters concerning health and wellness in Jamaica.
Congressman Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District, will provide an update on the United States’ efforts at managing the pandemic, as well as prioritising the protection of health care and reducing health disparities.
Let’s Connect’ with Ambassador Marks offers members of the diaspora the chance to speak directly with her about issues that are of interest to them, as well as to be updated on the Government’s policies and programmes and the Embassy’s activities.
From time to time, the Ambassador will be joined by various guests, including ministers of government, as well as key members of the diaspora, US government, and key players in various agencies.
